Default Beer

I'm traveling on the Majesty of the Seas in March and I'm hoping to bring a case of beer on board with me. Are there rules against this?

It's discouraged for sure. I have done it though. Pack it in your checked luggage wrapped in clothes or towels. Do not try to carry it on under your arm. I tipped the cabin steward upon arrival to find me a cooler full of ice and had ice cold beer in my cabin. Make sure it is of a brand and container type that is sold on board. I usually go with Bud in the 12 oz can. Don't be carrying around a bottle of Busch on the pool deck or you will be discovered.

Are you buying beer and trying to bring it on ? or are you trying to steal it ?

I have never had a problem with bringing a 6 pack on board, but I've always asked security before I bring it on. They do discourage any quantiy over a six pack & I've been able to bring a 12-pack on board. I also had an occasion (when in a port) to leave the ship as early as possible - return as soon as I can with hard liquor & security didnt care that I brought it to my room. I try to pick up a 6-pack of speciality beer from the island/port I'm at for my room. JUST DONT drink it in public areas. Most all of RCCL's staterooms have a mini fridge of which I set the soda pop aside ( after telling the cabin steward what & why I'm doing it & again never had a problem).

Note: This is just another (of many) reasons RCCL is my favorite cruise line.

I know it's discouraged but by hubby can drink the beer when he sets his mind to it. We took an empty suitcase with a couple of 18 packs in it. The suitcase came in handy when returning home-clothes take up more room after they have been warn and we had some souveniers. Cabin steward can give you ice or room service would bring you ice in the same buckets that they sell the buckets of beer in. With one of those buckets you can carry it up to the pool deck and no one would know the difference.

When we do this we pack are clothes in 2 gal. ziploc bags. This helps keep things tidy if for some reason your bags are searched during the securty check at the airport. It also keeps your clothes from getting damaged in the event you get a leek in one the cans. Good luck.
