RCCL lost one of my bags in disembarkation in Miami last Saturday. Unfortunately we had taken ice skates on board to enjoy that feature of the Navigator and that was the bag that was lost -- over $1000 worth of ice skates.
I can't seem to get anyone at RCCL to help me at all in finding my lost bag. My kids are missing their skating lessons, our coach is out her fees -- and no one can seem to tell me if I just need to file for compensation and order new skates (additional time off the ice) or if they plan on finding a lost bag.
So -- warning -- make sure your bags are clearly marked, and tie something very distinctive on the handle. If the bag are lost, you won't get much help from the cruise line in retrieving them.
Too bad about the luggage. One of my buddy's luggage was lost until 12:30 am on the day we embarked. RCCL gave him a toothbrush and incidentals as well as 2 ship shape t shirts that held him over until the bag was found. It is not hard to believe that bags could easily go missing. THey give you the baggage tags but they can easily fall off and then there is no way of knowing which cabin to deliver the bags too. So beware and make sure the tags are on securely
