Splendor of the Seas - Med Cruise Oct 2 - updated post

Hello!

My fiance and I are planning to take our honeymoon on this ship, on its 7-day Med cruise departing Barcelona on Oct 2, 2004. It will be our first cruise, and first time to Europe. We've tentatively booked an Oceanview cabin close to the Conference Centre.

A question we have is: is this cabin close to the engine room? If so, could one hear the engine noise from the cabin? This cabin is in the middle of the ship, and I know that that's where naval engineers place the engine as well, for obvious reasons. Has anyone had a cabin in this area? Is it noisy or crowded?

Also, how rocky is the Splendor of the Seas in Mediterannean waters? Is it heavy enough, and stabilized enough be ... stable? This being our first cruise, we have no idea if we'll get seasick or not.

Hi, I can't believe that I found someone else going on this Med Cruise. We were beginning to think we were going alone.
I can't answer your questions about the ship, but I can tell you that Rome and Naples are wonderful. We were there2 years ago on a land tour.

Add another to the list. Wife and I heading out on the Splendour of the Seas on 8/28. I too can tell you that Rome, Naples and Barcelona are spectacular... lived in the Med around 10 years back. Splendour is a big ship, so I don't think you would have any problems with motion... although this will be my 7th cruise, so I'm a bit jaded. Hope everyone enjoys the trip.
