I snorkeled off Pinel Island last July. We arranged the trip through the ship, RCI's Explorer. I was not impressed with that particular excursion, although other people may have done things differently. The biggest problem was that the group was way too big -- about 60 people were snorkeling at the same time and the area isn't that big. They also fed fish in order to bring them to the area but with that kind of crowd, you see more human bodies underwater than fish, all crashing into one another to get a view. You also have to swim out over a bunch of weedy stuff before you get to the fish-viewing area and I just didn't find the locale that picturesque. We did see quite a few fish and again, maybe it was just an off day for me, but it didn't compare to other snorkeling we've done. I would not choose to repeat this trip but someone else might have had a totally different experience.
