Default Need help with a Bahamas offer

I had a relative call me this morning and ask me about a hotel/cruise offer and gave me the phone number of the company giving the offer.

Anyways, the deal is for a 2 night stay in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and a week cruise to the Bahamas for a week for $200 a person in late May. I don't know, but that price sound a little fishy to me. There is no way it is a major cruise line. I asked my cousin, what cruise line? But, she didn't know.

I called the number, but no answer. They say to leave a message. But, I noticed that they don't give their name on the answering machine.

I went to the National Better Business Business Bureau site and typed in the phone number. The BBB had no information. I also look the number up with the Southeast Florida BBB and they had no information either.

Does anyone have any ideas?

BEWARE Major cruise lines do not advertise this way..There is a ship Named The Discovery that makes day trips to Freeport and you can get off and stay and come back at a later date. I have used her when using our timeshare over there.
However people that buy the packages like you were offered are pushed to buy upgrades in Hotels, etc and the cost goes way up. There is also local room tax not included about $12 ea a day. Go to Bahamas traveler Information exchange and you will find a ton of information about these types of trips. If you need help contact me.

We were in Fort Lauderdale this past December-January holidy season. You can fly from FLL or MIA or WPB to Nassau for a lot less money and aggravation than this old rust bucket ship they call Discovery. Case in point.... owner of guest house we stayed at told us that often, the Discovery stops in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean to pick up Cubans, Haitans, or whomever that are trying to drift to America. The three-hour cruise often turns into a 5-hour ordeal and the old ship has no stabilizers and in rough seas, is very rocky. I turned green just hearing this horror story from somebody who sailed it once and swore never again.

Hope that helps.

You can also take The Cat over to the Bahamas - and it takes 2-3 hours.

NEVER take Discovery!!!
