Default Dolphins

Has anyone been on a Dolphin excursion in the western Caribbean? I am going on the Explorer in April and have looked into the Dolphin Encounter in Ocho Rios offered through the cruise line. It is expersive, any alternatives to this?

I did the dolphin discovery in Cozumel last week. If you order it on line it is $99.00 I believe, through Carnival it was $155.00 and worth every penny! You would not regret it. I don't know about Ocho Rios though. In Cozumel the dolphins are in the ocean in a space of about 2 football fields side by side. That price was for the swim, the dolphin encounter was cheaper but I don't know the price.
Dolphin swim-you kiss, hold the dolphins fins, he pulls you through the water and you get to free swim with him.
the dolphin encounter- you kiss him and hold his fins.
Good luck and happy sailing!

We were on the Mariner last month and did the dolphin touch experience in Ocho Rios. I don't remember what the cost was (it was combined with Dunns River Falls), but it was totally worth it. We did not get in and swim with the dolphin, which was an option for another excursion, but we had a fantastic time. Everyone had several chances to touch the dolphin, including one where she came up between every couple and you got to pet her and talk to her a little. Then everyone got to get down close and hold he head and pet her while having your picture taken. My fiance even gave her a little smooch. The look of pure joy on his face in the picture tells it all. We plan on doing other dolphin excursions in the future, and highly recommend them to anyone who has the chance.
