Re: Re: Encantment of the Seas May 15 is anyone else going
Could you tell me about the shows on board? What about the coke cards. Should
we get it? I have heard that if you purchase things in shops you have to pay for
them at the end of the trip. Is this correct? Can you tell me about the casino on this
ship? Did you book excersions before you left home or on the ship? How soon
were you able to board when you got to the ship?
I know this is alot of questions, but I have never been on a cruise before. I am looking
forward to this trip. Any other tips would be appreciated.
Re: Encantment of the Seas May 15 is anyone else going
Our shuttle got to Port Everglades, we dropped our luggage, went inside and since it was noon and there were no lines we were on the boat with in 15 minutes. It was great, well worth it to get there early. You get a sea pass which is your room key and what you use to pay for everything on the boat. They swipe it and you sign, then pay at the end of the cruise. They make you give them a credit card when you first check in that they secure it with. You can go to the Pursers desk and check your balance anytime. That's what we did mid cruise to see where we were at. Then the last day we gave them the cash we had left and they put that towards our bill and they charged the rest. The seapass is what you use in the gift shop, buying bingo cards, drinks etc. The boat has their own singers and dancers that put on shows a couple nights, they were great. They had a comedian a couple nights, he was great too, can't remember his name though. They also had some singers pretending to be the Beatles, they looked, sang and talked like them, if they have it don't miss it. They also have a few games too, don't miss, The Quest and the love and marriage game, they were hilarious. The casino was nice, small but nice. You can charge a little on your sea pass at the black jack tables etc, otherwise the slots are cash. THe casino has craps, roulette, black jack and slots, from what I saw. They also have a daily bingo game on the boat. We didn't get the pop card. Didn't seem worth it. We just paid for the cans, which are $1.50 a little ridiculous but we're not huge soda drinkers. Plus I like getting a can over fountain so it works better. You get iced tea and lemonade with meals so we really only used the soda card for mixing drinks. We waited too long to book excursions, wish we would have done it before sailing. Would go through RCI website and pick the ones you want. We thought we'd get them cheaper waiting but in one case it was a lot more, and the other time the choices we had on the peir seemed a little questionable as far as reliability goes. When we tried to book on the cruise what we wanted was already full. Next time we'd book before through the cruise so you have someone to complain to if something goes wrong and you're sure to get what you want. This was our first cruise too, I felt absolutely lost before we went so any questions I can answer I would be more than happy to help.
