I sailed on the Enchantment to the Western Caribbean in 2000, and was one of the best trips I ever went on. It had the best kids' club of any ship that I've been on. The teen center, FantaSeas was GREAT as it is equiped with fooseball tables, a dance floor, and a soda bar. I had a blast hanging out there and it made for some of my best cruise memories. The ship had some great parties, such as toga night, as well. The rooms were nice and the casino is one of the nicer ones that I have seen. Just got back from enchantment sailed 3/1, we loved it. Would recommend getting on the boat as soon as you can. We boarded just after noon. Couldn't get in our room yet but we lounged by the pool, got a bite and a drink and avoided all the lines. Loved the early dinner, recommend Julie and Sabit as waiters they were the greatest. Evening shows were also great, Beatle mania, dancing, singing, games. Do it all and you'll have a blast. Biggest complaint is the saving of the chairs by the pool. Our day at sea all chairs were taken by 8:30. We got there at 8 didn't leave until 3 and watched as some of those "saved" chairs weren't used until after 10 or 11, a group of 6 never even showed up until after 12. If you are drinkers, take advantage of the duty free liquor store. We bought a few bottles paid a fee to have it in our room and then just bought pop. Which at $1.50 a can it's over priced but you end up saving a lot since one drink can run $5.00. If you haven't booked shore excursions and want to I would do it online with the cruise line or right when you get on board. We waited and missed out on some we wanted. We ended up finding some when we got into port but you never know about who you're handing your money to when you do it that way, we over heard some people complaining about theirs when they booked on shore.
You will like the Enchantment! I sailed on her a few years back when she did the 7days one. As you can see we are going back to my"first love" as she was my first cruise and it got me hooked!
She is not too big but not too small. Food was excellent and so was the service. I liked the solarium the best and no kids are allowed there <which keeps it quiet> The other pool has all age groups. Have fun and if you do remember please bring back a copy of the daily compass. Are you doing the Western? We are and its the 5 nighter...Have fun!
