My husband is considering paying the $100 to have internet access all week on our next cruise. I have heard some complaints that the connection is very slow or goes down a lot. We were thinking it would be great to send e-mails and pics back home. Has anyone used this service and do you think it was worth it?
I've used the in cabin "Connect at Sea"... it can be slow, and occassionally intermittent, but overall a nice easy way to check in when you have a few minutes instead of running down to the Internet Cafe.
Do you need the internet for business? If not, forget it. Wait until you get home to tell everyone about it. Enjoy the experience. It will make it more fun to tell about your trip when you get home. RELAX! Have a great time. Of course this is only my two cents worth.
We checked out a unit on our Voyager cruise last month, and it was a pain, we turned it back in within hours. Couldn't get connected, and those that did, got knocked off constantly. There were several of us that turned them back in (of which we got a full refund).

As far as I know you can not reseve the cyber kit ahead of time. There are a limited number of kits. Guest relations is where you go to pick one up. There is no technical help aboard that can assist if you are having trouble.
I too signed up for the cyber kit on Voyager and could not stay connected for more than 60 to 70 seconds, that is if it connected. May have been the area we sailed. Turned it in the next day and had them remove the charges.
