Default help w/ LA,Monarch

My wife and I are thinking about the 4 day Monarch cruise out of LA. We'll be flying into LA and are wondering how far the Port is from LAX? Does RC offer a shuttle? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Outlaw,
You may want to ask your travel agent what the cost of the cruiseline transfers are, they should offer them. Otherwise if its not too far from the airport, a cab may be the way to go...

Anyone out there cruised out of LA recently?

We would also like some help with car rental info in LA...we plan on renting a car at the airport (not sure yet if we are flying into LAX or Long Beach) and doing Disneyland prior to our cruise--after our cruise we are planning on doing some LA area sightseeing for a couple of days also. We would like to rent a car again and then return it to the airport we fly out of. Anyone know of a car rental company with an off-site location near the LA/San Pedro pier?

Thanks in advance.

LA resident here. LAX to San Pedro is about 20 miles or so. Long Beach is closer, 5 miles or so. To pin things down further, go to mapquest and do a road trip from either airport to the port. You can get the street addresses from their individual Web sites. I don't know what car rental companies they have in LB airport, but they must have a site. You'd be better off renting near San Pedro or Long Beach rather than going back north to LAX because Disneylad is due east of the Port and LAX is north of the port, but that only works if you're flying in/out of LB airport.

Happy planning. We recently did the 4 day on Monarch and had a great time.

We are leaning towards flying into Long Beach airport for sure...we will have to see what the fares are closer to our trip (We are on the Nov. 8th sailing). No matter where we rent the car, I believe we can return it to another location anyway.

Nothing like planning 6 months in advance--! Oh, well...part of the fun is the planning, right?!

Long Beach has car rental right on property, and is closer than LAX (but not by much)
I believe they have an Enterprize there.

Cruisenut1-

I am actually trying to find out what car rental companys are located at the San Pedro port (or nearby, with a shuttle). I'm not really worried about the airport locations--I'm sure they have plenty. Thanks!
