Is a bathing suit coverup appropriate for the dining room at lunch time, or do we have to change out of our suits? We are used to all-inclusives in the Caribbean where some days we just stay in our suits all day. If coverups are not acceptable, where else is lunch available without getting changed. This is our first cruise, in July, and we are really looking forward to it.
Bathing suits with a cover up really shouldn't be worn in the dining room. You can go to the buffet or there is usually a place around the pool for hot dogs/hambergers. There are lots of options.

On "at-sea" days I stayed in my suit from breakfast until I got ready for dinner. I wore my cover up to the Windjammer for lunch and to Johnny Rockets also for lunch. You will not look at all out of place!
The Windjammer is the buffet . It's also the closest food venue to the pool. :-) Bathing suits & coverups are fine there.
If you do want to eat in the dining room -- which as you'll learn -- is more elegant, you should be a bit more dressed, at least nice shorts & a top. Whether you have your bathsuit underneath is your business. Personally I couldn't eat in the dining room in a bathing suit & cover-up b/c I'd freeze.
