Default Low fat menu on the Sovereign???

I was wondering if anyone had any info about the low fat selections on the Sovereign of the seas??? I was reading on their website and it says they do have selections on each menu and that you have to speak to the matre'd. I was just wondering if they are on every menu or if I would have to let them know and what type of selections and how many? I am watching everything I eat for many reasons and I don't want to fall back into bad habits on the cruise. I want to stay on track with my eating habits and exercise on the cruise.

Thanks for your help!!!
Rachel

They have a Ship Shape choice each night that usually a lower fat option. There is also at least one sugar free dessert.

if you even need to ask about a low fat menu on a cruise...you should NOT be cruising.

Steve,

Surely you jest! There are many people who watch what they eat or diet to live a healthly life or to look good on a cruise. There are many reasons, medically included, to want a low fat menu. I eat many of the Ship Shape and sugar free desserts and still have a great time on cruises. I don't live to eat, I eat to live and cruise, low fat, sugar free or not! Don't judge!

Thanks for your help!!! Yes CA Cruiser I agree with you shouldn't judge and that many people eat certain ways because of medical reasons. Just because you go on a vacation/cruise doesn't mean you shouldn't be health concious.

I'm sorry Steve was narrow minded in his responce to your question. No one should be put in a box and have to vacation the same way other people choose to vacation. We are all individuals and enjoy different aspects of life. If I had to vacation based on someone else's "rules" it wouldn't be a vacation!
As far as your question, there is always an outlined box on each of the menus which include your Ship Shape options. You may choose as many or as few of the items as you desire. It usually is just one option from each course, but they are tasty, low in fat and calories. If I remember correctly they include the calorie and fat counts with each dish in this section. My mother is border-line diabetic and certainly made many of her choices from this area. She enjoyed each one and said she didn't even miss not ordering from the other areas of the menu. Also, aqusis is correct about there always being a sugar free dessert option. You will have a wonderful time and be able to stay healthy and vacation the way you want!

Aftrer oneof our cruises I was diagnosed as diabetic & actually worrried a bit that I would not have any choices..WRONG! You can choose healthy & still have some great meals on board & even a dessert or two. Keep in mind that low fat is not always low cal or low sugar! & low sugar is not necessarily low carb! You can ask questions & make good choices....& you won't be the only one....

Thanks so much for all of your help. I am looking foward to cruising again, only 17 more days to go wooooohoooooo. This will be my first time on Royal Caribbean so i'm excited. Since my first cruise in January a lot of things changed, I wasn't concious of the different menu options then.
