travel irons, can you bring one>
I've heard that they don't supply irons because of fire hazard. Has anyone brought their own travel iron with them? Is this OK to do?
Another question, are there hair dryers in all the rooms? |
Re: travel irons, can you bring one>
There are hair dryers in the vanity. I wouldn't suggest bringing an iron, they aren't supplied for a reason. We just pack everything as carefully as possible and it looks ok. Remember, everyone there won't have access to an iron, so you won't be out of place. Hope it helps, happy sailing!

You could bring an iron, but there's not enough room in the cabin to iron anything. A portable steamer is better.

They make tiny portable irons. As long as you remember to uplug it, bring it along.

Re: travel irons, can you bring one>
I used to bring a portable steamer. Then they came out with Downy Wrinkle Release. That stuff is wonderful! I use it daily, and my husband now uses it instead of wasting time ironing each morning. You just spray it on, pull the fabric and smooth out the wrinkles. It might not work well on really bad wrinkled stuff, or deep wrinkles, but for every day stuff its great. You can find it in the laundry aisle in most stores. It comes in an ivory colored spray bottle and can be tough to find in the sea of products.

I can't seem to find the Downy Wrinkle Release anywhere in Calgary.
Can anyone help? Maybe there's a place in Miami I can get it from since we're there a few days before the cruise departs? Only 4 more nights! |
Re: travel irons, can you bring one>
Since you will have a few days you can pick it up in Miami. I know Publix (grocery chain), Walmart, and Target carry it. Some smaller grocery stores may also carry it. Hopefully someone who lives in the area can tell you more.

Re: travel irons, can you bring one>
I wrote to the RC staff just a few days ago. They specifically stated that irons are prohibited because of the fire hazard issue. They do allow "travel clothes steamers". I am however, taking the Downey Wrinkle Releaser. I tested it out several weeks ago and I think it'll work great.

if unable to find the wrinkle release, there is always laundry service they will steam or press your clothes if they are really wrinkled.. dosent cost to much... good luck and have fun

Re: travel irons, can you bring one>
I have always carried my travel iron and never had a problem. I don't see the difference in ironing in the room and smoking. And it sure smells alot better. Like stated before, just unplug the thing.

Re: travel irons, can you bring one>
I brought my travel iron which is also a steamer and had no trouble at all.
