How much spending money is needed for 2 people for 7 days?

It has been a long time since i last Cruised like 5 to 10 years ago. And I do not remember the amount I took with me.. Any suggestions will be great!

Well my BF does not drink. But I may have one or 2 foo foo drinks. We more than likely will not got to the casino and I am going to try to per pay for any shore tours. (I hope) I am hopeing to save up about $500 to $600. My hours at work have been cut back and I am trying to budget and spend as little as possible. I have the cruise and airfare and per cruise hotel night paid allready. Now All I have to do is come up with post cruise night and spending money and shour tours. Our cruise is Dec 5th. Only 76 days away. Can it be done?

Your qestion is very general in nature and the answer really is to spend what you feel comfortable with.

I always bring $1,000 in cash and my Amex card. We do not gamble, but we do have one or two drinks per day. Almost everything you do on board goes my your room account and then transfers to my Amex. Our typical room account at the end of a cruise is about $500.

I use the cash for shopping on the islands in out of the way places where sometimes the cash gets you a better price than plastic does. I also use the cash for tips at the end of the cruise.

Sometimes we come home with most of the money, sometimes we come home with just enough to pay the tolls on the drive home from the airport. Just earmark whatever you think your vacation is worth without the "fret" factor of spending too much, and stick with your budget

Between the tables, tips and offshore excursions I allow for $2k per day on throw away money. That should be about right for anyone cruising

DavyB, that sounds about right. Sometimes I manage on $1000 per day. More on port days, between hookers, drugs and alcohol, it can really add up. I like to get a massage, my hair done and buy lots of photos. I take the limit on liquor and cigarettes home for my buds.

Hi DTW, agreed, but I was quoting for a couple, so my $2k against your $1k if you are on your own seems about right, but I've never paid for hookers so far, may have to take that into account for future budgets if life turns that way, whats the best ports?
