Default Radiance-formal night

I've been reading the posts for RCCL and get the impression that formal night doesn't seem to be a big deal. We will be cruising RCCL for the first time on the Radiance 11/7. My teenagers have always enjoyed dressing up formal night (even the boys) and having our pictures done. Will they feel out of place?

Formal night is a big deal especially on the Radiance. Dress code is enforced in the dining room and you will see women in gowns and men in tuxes. Your children will not feel out of place at all. Go get all dolled up!

Instead of a tux, can a black suit work. I highly doubt I will be able too get my husband in a tux. It was hard enough for our wedding....

You said, formal night is especially a big deal on the Radiance......it this also true with the Voyager.....I know my kids will not be wearing a suit. Shirt and tie yes...but not even a blazer do they own.....is this acceptable.

Thank you.

Formal nights I find are pretty much enforced on most cruise ships.
Yes of course your husband can where a suit- plenty of men will be in them. As for children, a nice shirt with nice pants (no jeans) is perfectly acceptable or a little jumper/summer dress for a girl. If you are on a 7 day cruise, the Captains Gala is the mroe formal of the two, I find. The second formal night, people are still very much dressed up, but some men are now wearinng sports jackets or just a shirt and tie.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for answering my questions...this is the first time I've had to check the boards. We will proceed with our tux attire and get some great pictures for the Christmas card!

I agree...just back last night and formal still has the mixed bag on the "Radiance." Tux still worn by many guests.
