Just back on Monday from the Grandeur of the Seas. What a beautiful ship! Everything was WONDERFUL, the best trip anywhere EVER!
Our ports were changed because of Jeanne, we went to Bermuda, Labadee and Nassau. We stayed overnite in Nassua, which was a bonus. We went to the Atlantis hotel, WOW, what a gorgeous place!! Well worth the trip over that HUGE bridge!
If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them.
Glad you had a great time. Could you tell me about the Atlantis, were you allowed to doing anything there. I heard they were really strict and would not allow you to do the dig/marina or pools unless you were staying there. Did you take a tour or did you do it alone?
Thinking of cruising Nov. 27th. Curious about the balcony rooms. We did a celebrity cruise and took the advice from someone to take a balcony room on the back of the ship, facing the back. It was wonderful. Does the Grandeur have any rooms facing the rear of the boat?
The food on the Grandeur was amazing and tons of it!! As for Atlantis....WOW, it was an amazing place. We went over by ourselves and just walked around in the casino and in the aquarium. The aquarium was very accessible, we just walked over and started to take pictures of it, no problem at all. We didn't know about the rest of the things to do there but we did want to go to a beach and were not allowed onto their's so we had to walk a bit to go to another beach.
As for rooms facing the back of the ship, yes they do. We were in a cabin on the 7th with a balcony, midship and it was great. Would ONLY go again with a balcony.
Enjoy yourself on the Grandeur and say hi the wonderful staff, Tristan and Marlon at the purser's desk, and the rest of the crew, they were all amazing and you'll be very lucky if you have JR in the dining room. Say hi to them from the Crazy Canuks!
I am booked to sail on the Grandeur on Aug. 28th, 2005 with my husband and son , who will be 13 by then. We will be leaving from Baltimore going to Bermuda. How was the food on this ship? We have previously sailed on the Carnival Destiny, Royal Caribbean's Majesty, and the Carnival Miracle--liking Carnival the best. Are there plenty of activities for early teens? Also, how is the spa? Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
We were lucky enough to cruise on the Grandeur twice. Just got off it last March 03. We love this ship. We can't say enough about the crew. Everyone is so very nice and personable. The food at the times we cruised was EXCELLENT. We took the cruise in 03 out of New Orleans and had a wonderful time. They have activities for teens and the teens on our cruise seemed to be a happy bunch. You will not be disappointed in this ship. Have a great time.
Thanks Gail. What a nice thing to see your good report on Grandeur. We're leaving this Friday and was getting a bit dismayed to read such negative reports. I would love to go to Bermuda and am ready to go with the flow. Fortunately, we on Deck 7 away from the sewer smell.
