Default Mariner of the Seas

Does anyone know if the regular balcony cabins on the Mariner of the Seas have a bathtub or a shower only? I am an everyday bath taker and a room with no tub is no deal for me. How is the ship? I haven't sailed with Royal Carribean, only Holland America and Carnival. We really like HAL, but we are young (twenties) so we thought we would try something different. Opinions on this ship?

Sorry,no tub, just shower. But don't let get you down. We've cruised on Royal before and loved it. On Rhapsody 10/99 and Explorer 11/2002.

Hi Caroline,
There are certain catagories, that have a tub instead of a shower, but not the regular balcony rooms....I too miss having a tub when cruising, we did on 2 cruises and its nice, but I can give that up for a week of cruising, enjoy!

You would need to book a category JS to have a tub in the bathroom. The Junior Suites are wonderful on Royal Caribbean, and besides the larger cabins and bathrooms, they also feature a walk-in closet.

Thanks so much for the Info, I am looking into a JS cabin for my Spring Break trip in Mariner of the Seas. How does it compare with Holland America? How about the crowds and fighting for a chair on deck?

Mariner is a great ship, wonderful crew and yes you will have to search for a chair at the pool on days at sea. The JS is a great room, if you check and keep checking you might find the price on the JS goes down closer to sailing date. I booked a regular balcony on Mariner, about a month before I sailed the JS price went down on RCI's web site, I had my TA call RCI and got a JS for about $150 per person more than the regular balcony room. Can't say enough about the Voyager class ship.
