Default early or late?

We're first time cruisers - what's best, early or late seating for dinner? We'll be going on an E. Carribean cruise in January.

From what I've come to understand, it really comes down to personal preferences. Many people like to spend every last minute in ports-of-call, and need lots of time after getting back aboard ship to prepare for dinner, so late seating will do them well. Others (like us) will likely start each day early, get back to ship early, and probably want to get to sleep early, so early seating will do us well.

depends on what your home time zone is and when you are use to eating at home and how far in advance you make your cruise reservations (you have a greater choice of time the earlier you make your reservations) and of course whether the cruise line you are on has the 'PC" option

What is the PC option? We live on the west coast, usually eat about 6:00 PST

We prefer late dining even though at home we are usually in bed by that time!!Haha! We are from the group that like to spend as much time in port as we can and then we come back to the ship and take a nap before we get ready for dinner. With early dinner we always found time after dinner with nothing to do. Also, it seemed like such a rush to get ready. I do not like to go back and take a nap if I am already dressed up. It is a matter of preference and what you like to do. Just remember you are on vacation and usually your on a totally different schedule.

We always did late but felt too full & tired after dinner to do the shows or much of anything. This time we switched to early & enjoyed everything at night. The tradeoff is having to wrap things up earlier during the day--no late excursions or lingering at the pool-- early also fits with our dining sched. at home & avoids that extra snack around 5 pm...But it is truly a personal choice--

Thank you everyone! I'll have to put some thought into this and find out on the cruise which is the best I guess. Happy cruising!

I think early seating is preferable..After dinner we go to the early show..This leaves plenty of time for the casino...The casino tables are usually full if you show up later in the evening. If you wait till late seating your entertainment options are somewhat limited. Show or casino?...I like to do both.
