Does anyone know how far the Atlantis is from Nassau when you dock on the Voyager.?
And is it worth going to....as is, how much you can see there. I understand they are very strick and don't let you in. Can you and would you be better off just taking a taxi there.....opposed to a group tour?
Our ship was Sovereign. We took a water taxi over to Atlantis for a small fee. A slight wait till they had a full boat. No problem browsing the stores in the Atlantis. I think you can even use the casino-we didn't. You can pay a fee to see everything but my husband refused to do that. Only thing I've heard they're strict about is their pools. We enjoyed going over there, but didn't spend the whole day there. We liked just going to the beach (near port )& the straw market. People are very nice & friendly. Have a marvelous time!!
I've heard some negative things about the water taxi's from many people on this board. We took a taxi over, (they wait til they have a full group, but doesn't take long) and went to Atlantis. We booked a room at the Comfort Suites right across the street. You can have the taxi take drop u there. Many people do this. Then ck in and walk back to Atlantis. You then get your wristbands for each one. You can spend the whole day there. My daughter and I went back early and my husband and son stayed. Lots to see and do!
Don't miss the aquarium...We just looked at it ourselves, although I believe you can buy a tour which would probably be more extensive. We took a taxi from the dock. Our driver's name was Big Mikey, and his "taxi" was held together by duct tape, it was quite an adventure over the huge bridge....but it only took about ten minutes from the dock.

Atlantis is well worth the trip..no pool useage but i think there is a $25 tour charge that allows you to use the beach., It is a fabulous property..styed there last january.
You can see the Atlantis from the ship when you dock, its really close!!!!
They are very strick where you can go, with security guards blocking most private areas. You can by a pass and that gives you access to the different aquariums. It is pretty expensive (i cant remember exactly i was there last christmas). Its not worth going to the atlantis if you dont buy the pass though. Its a beautiful hotel and very worth the price.
Our last cruise, we were told you couldnt use the pools and beach unless you had payed for a night there. We took a Island Tour that stopped there for 30 minutes or so. We walked around little bit and took some pictures. We were on Celebrity and there were no tours offered to use the facilities at Atlantis. You may want to check on their website or call that way you arent disappointed when you get there.
We did a ship excursion with a harbor tour and a tour of Atlantis, well worth the money. The aquarium and dig are something to see. Not sure what the price is now, but when we went a few years ago it was $25 a person.
Well worth the trip. We went there last month, took the water taxi over with no problems. I have some pictures from the ship and then at the resort if you'd like them sent to you. We didn't buy any tour but enjoyed shopping, the aquarium, the casino, and the lunch we ate there.
HI,
We went to Atlantis in Nov. We just took a taxi from the ship, 3-4 dollars per person. It only took about 20 min to reach Atlantis. It is a very Beautiful resort. To tour the aquarium it cost $38 dollars per person, however you could not use the pool or the waterslides. I did speak to a woman who said her family of 4 got use of the entire resort for the day for $150. Hope this helps you. email me if you have any questions.
We rented a room at the Comfort Suites for the day and used the facilities at Atlantis. We ended up paying $200 for three people. It was a great experience. After spending a day there, we decided we may want to go back for a vacation. Noticed there were tons of big guards trying to prevent people, who were not guests. In Atlantis there is a lounge, for showering and changing. I believe also an area to leave your bags. This was great b/c we didn't have to go back to the comfort suites till the end. The taxi ride from the ship was about 10 minutes away.
The only issue, is in order to use some of the equipment like floats, you have to rent them for a day.
