Default Christmas cruise

Going on our 1st Christmas Cruise on the Empress out of San Juan 20th December. We have been on only 2 cruises before and I was wondering what to expect on a Christmas cruise. Do they decorate the ship any other special things happening.

Got the docs today, can't wait

Hi there Mocsa -

My boys and I are sailing with you on the Empress of the Seas. I have never sailed during Christmas either but from what I've heard, the ship is usually decorated very festively.

Hopefully someone with first hand experience will respond to your post. I just wanted to say "Hi" and I will see you next month!!

Another first time holiday cruiser here...I just hope i can get the World Champion New England Patriots while at sea..( did i mention that they are the world champions?)...

The best part about the cruise is that i dont have to decorate the house for Christmas !

We did a two week Panama Canal cruise over Christmas and New Years (now we go over New Years). The ship will be decorated until the end of the New Years cruise. I dont remember much about Christmas other than decorating our room with some items purchased in ports, and a really nice dinner. New Years Eve they made a pyramid out of glasses and several people, including my brother, were chosen to poor some champagne in the top glass, spilling over to the others like a waterfall. Oh yeah, they did have a huge table set up with gingerbread houses, and other holiday food decorations which were really cool (like an underwater scene made from blue jello, fruit, veggies, etc). I believe these items were displayed, then put out for the midnight buffet. It was too pretty to eat!
