Default self serve washers and dryers

Are there any self serve washers and dryers on Jewel of the Seas?

Are we allowed to take along a steam iron or fabric steamer on our trip?

No, you won't find any self service washers/dryers on any Royal CAribbean or Celebrity ship. They do however, have a laundry service, and yes, you can bring along your steamer. You can also pack your finer clothing in the plastic cleaner bags, no wrinkles that way, I pack with them all the time and haven't needed to iron anything.

You need to sail Carnival, HAL (except for the new ships) or Princess if you want
self service laundry.

YES all ships have self washing and drying . You will need a aft cabin and a very long rope and laundry bag to wash your clothes ,then to dry hang over railing .

Believe it or not when we were on the Jewel for the New England Cruise someone took their laundry off the ship and to a laundromat at one of the ports. I don't remember which port it was.

Ouch! Wasn't aware there were no laundrymats on RC ships. So, is someone out there willing to break it to me how much they charge to do your laundry for you? And how reliably do they get your particular items to you (and not someone else)? I may be packing more clothes....

My recollection was that the cost for cleaning was high, much more than I was willing to spend.

I have rinsed a few thigs out on occasion and hung them on a chair on the balcony, or over the string in the shower to dry, but the basic plan is to bring enough clothes to last the entire trip.

If you ever need your clothes just pressed......................We usually send clothes out to be pressed when we get on ship. It doesn't cost much at all and they do an UNBELIEVABLE job. The last thing I want to do on a cruise is iron!!! So, bring a few extras and send them out for pressing!!

Hi Evryone:

To check out the prices for laundry service, go the RCCL site, click on Customer Support and then Frequently asked questions and there you will find out what it will cost to have things drycleaned, ironed etc.

A travel iron onboard is a NO NO. A real fire hazzard!! Travel steamers however are acceptable, and work very well.
