Nassau Shore Excursions

I just got my packet from my travel agent!! Three weeks and counting!! I've been reading over shore excursions that RCI offers in Nassau. We want to spend one day touring, shopping and barhopping and the other day on the beach and doing some water related activities. Should we plan to do everything on our own or should we invest in some of the excursions? I see they offer guided tours of Nassau and Paradise Island as well as beach trips to all inclusives like Breezes and the Wyndham and also "private island" trips to Blackbeard's Cay and a few others. Would we be better off with the excursions or would we be able to navigate on our own? I like the idea of being on our own better because we wouldn't be held to a schedule but since this is the first trip to Nassau, I'm unsure of getting around! Any help or adivce would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

Re: Nassau Shore Excursions

We went snorkeling on our own with Stuart's Cove. We had a great time. They had a bus that picks you up right near the ship and then they take you back. They have a website. They wanted me to give a deposit, but you don't have to. It's nonrefundable. I was afraid that the ship might not dock in Nassau it was September. We really had fun.
