Default Enchantment of the Seas booked after the stretch!!!

I wanted to go on this ship again this year but my annual 'take the kids cruise' in May it will be in drydock. I just booked it for November to Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman. I can't wait to go on her again and see the new pool deck and bars. The countdown begins!!

Dave,
Great news, you'll have to fill us in when you return. There is supposed to be that bungee thing put on as well, now that sounds interesting.

Thanks, Roland any pictures? Yes, Donna I will have a full review and picture gallery. I am more interested in the new pool bar than the bungees. First things first though, the Sovereign in May. I am interested in the changes in this ship as well.

Dave the Wave..... I saw your posting in the cruisemates section.

I will be the Cruise Program Administrator (CPA)- part of the Cruise staff dept. This is the position that took over for the Social hostess position. Anyone getting married on the Enchantment or having an event on the ship- I will be handling their funtion... and will be seeing you all at the Captains Gala....

I don't know if I will still be there in November, especially if there is a possibility of transfering ships...but who knows- it would be funny to meet up. I would love to go back on the Sovereign after her refurbishment....I noticed you are going- fill me in on how she is. great ship!

Got my cabin number now 8093. Right off the centrum for quick access to the pool deck. November 12th. Is anyone else going? It will be a cruise to remember. I think I will pull some sort of hijinx. Last time on the Enchantment, they did not let me finish singing "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" -Meatloaf, so I am practicing. I did get to dance around in my Sponge Bob boxers during the Quest game when some girls took off my pants. It was also quite fun to parade around with the other guys in the bras we borrowed from the ladies. It is all on the "Cruise in Review" video. It was worth the $30.

We're going on the Enchantment Nov. 7th. I was looking at the before and after deckplans and really did not see any changes on the lower decks. I didn't see any additional staterooms and was wondering how they are going to utilize the extra space created by the addition. Are they making the existing staterooms larger or just making the upper decks larger? I am so confused lol! I am excited about it, I am just curious about how they are going to do the addition. Any thoughts are appreciated

Our stateroom on a pre-strectch cruise was right next to the beautiful library. There was a great view down into the centrum. Does anyone know where that would be now? We are considering Enchantment for a New Eng trip so we await the new deckplans. Other than mediocre food/service in rest. it is one of our favorite ships!

I have looked at the deck plans for pre-stretch vs. post-stretch and cannot see that anything changes with regard to the rooms next to the library. In both diagrams 7596 and 7606 are next to the library. I'm still very confused how they can cut a ship in half and add 73 feet in length, yet the lower deck plans don't seem to change. BTW it looks as though your view down to the centrum will be preserved from what I can tell. You can see the deck plans for yourself on Royal's website and select the ship, you can see what's changing.

The decks plans on their site are of the new but the same plans are shown as the old. So they look the same. Find another site that still shows the old deck plans (there are many), pull up RCI's as well, make the screens smaller and put them side by side. Then you will see the difference. The 73 feet are all the way through, not just the upper decks ...... It seems as thought the first 6-7 cabins on either side forward of the centrum will remain intact, the new ones will be inserted forward of them and then the old forward section joins there. These cabins are about 10 feet wide, that adds about seven (depends on category) in each deck of the new section on either side.

While the cabins are basically the same, just more of them, I am most interested in the expanded pool deck and the new pool bar. That is where I spend my time anyway.

abell,
You are on the same cruise we are! Have you looked at any excursions at this point? We are planning on cave tubing in Belize and a dolphin swim in Cozumel.
I think you picked a fantastic sailing for your first cruise! Maybe we'll see you on board!

Dave,
Thanks for solving that mystery. I nearly strained my brain trying to figure out what they were doing with that extra space. I found an old RCI Brochure and compared the Enchantment deck plans in it to the ones on RCI's website, and you are of course, 100% correct. I've seen the artist's renderings of what the new pool deck and bar are like. I think I will like this very much! Thanks again!

Check out this page on the RCCL site......there is actually an animation that shows exactly how the ship will be stretched!

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findac...ts&shipCode=EN

Click on stretching animation.

I will be on this ship on 10/2/05 going from Quebec to Fort Lauderdale. I cannot wait for this cruise!

hcat,
Based on what Dave told us, it looks like I made an error because I was going off of the information provided on RCI's website. Pre-stretch the staterooms that were on each side of the library were 7580 and 7594. Post-stretch the staterooms on each side of the library will be 7596 and 7606. So I wanted to aoplogize for the misinformation, I thought that RCI's pre and post stretch deck plans on their own website would have been most accurate, but they are not. So sorry...

By the way. Those same cabins near the centrum are still there and the same. They have renumbered them. I have been on deck 8 near the centrum inside and will be again in November.

We're going on Enchantment the week of Dec. 19th to Key West, Cozumel, and Belize. This will be our first cruise and we're excited to be traveling on the "updated" Enchantment! I enjoy reading your posts -- thanks for the information! Our cabin is 8096 -- hope it's a good location. By the way, just wondering about the shore excursions. We want to do the cave tubing in Belize -- should we book through RCI or directly with the vendor? Any suggestions for Cozumel (interested in snorkling)? Thanks again!!

Hi FSUmom,
For snorkeling in Cozumel, you can take a cab from the pier to Chankanaab Park, good snorkeling and its also where they have the Dolphin Swim.
