Most people will recommend the Radisson at the Port. They are nice and have a free shuttle. We used them 2 years ago. On cruise day, it was crazy. Even with scheduled shuttle times, people were pushing and shoving. If you do stay here, call a few days before and put your name on the shuttle list because it does fill up fast.

Last year we stayed down the street (A1A) at the Hampton Inn. They have very nice rooms, a path to the beach and a complimentary continental breakfast. We rented a car from Budget. Went to dinner at the port on Saturday and watched the Glory and 2 Disney ships leave. Then returned the car on cruise morning at their location across the street from the port. Budget has a free shuttle too. If you don't rent a car, some use Mears or Art's Shuttle service for about $3/pp.

Have a great time on the Mariner. She is huge and a lot to see.

I just booked on priceline for 2 rooms. I offered $75 for a 3 star and was laughed at. Then I tried $50 for a 1 star. It wouldn't take $50 but when I offered $75 on the 1 star, it accepted and also upgraded to 3 star - go figure. We're oceanfront at the Doubletree! Not sure much about this particular property but Doubletrees are usually great. Too bad that we'll only be there to sleep. Also, they will allow us to leave the car there for no charge and shuttle to the dock. That saves another $70 in parking fees.

I am going on the Mariner July 10th and I am also staying at the Radisson. We booked a nice jacuzzi suite as a way to start our vacation. I didnt realize the shuttle there would be crazy to get on to. Well hopefully if we book it for an early time it wont be too bad.

Default Good hotel near Canerval port

We are having our honeymoon on Mariner sailing 2nd October & tried to find a nice hotel near the port but ended up giving up as could'nt find anything suitable. We've booked a Disney resort hotel instead for a few days pre-cruise... maybe this suggestion will be right for you to (the drive is about 1 hr).
Enjoy your cruise.

Clive, don't know what the problem was or what paticulars you were looking for. There must be over 100 hotels within 5 miles of the port on A1A. Ron Jon even has a fancy Resort right there too. You'll have fun in Orlando too.

We are awaiting our 72 hours to bid on priceline again. Will bid again 2-18. We have gotten wonderful rates in New Orleans, at 4* hotel on priceline in Sept. & also before our cruise in Jan., hoping for a great deal near Port Canerval before our cruise in April on Mariner. Keep your fingers crossed. Can't wait to cruise!!!!!!!!

You don't have to wait 72 hours to bid on Priceline again - with the slightest chsnges you can re-bid right away. The is an article about re-bidding somewhere around here - describes the process pretty well..
