Hi Cynda,
I think we're sailing on the Radiance with you. May 1st! We booked a hotel for 2 post-cruise days and our airfare. Looking forward to this cruise so much. We sailed from San Diego last November with Carnival and because they have no terminal parking we found a hotel that offered a cruise package with free shuttle service to and from the port. We found the port check in to be nice and organized. They offer plenty of seating but since we had an elderly lady with a cane, we sat in the Handicapped Area and waited then we were allowed on with the VIP and assisted need cruisers. Our son is going to drop us off and we will fly back to LAX to save $. Feel free to email me to chat or more info.
Teresa

It's an easy terminal to get to but the traffic can snarl due to security checkpoint if you arrive when everyone else does. This cruise leaves at 1800 (6 P.M.) so an ideal time to arrive is around 1600. Have your cruise documents and ID out for the guard who will let your son drive in and drop you off. A porter will take all of your checked luggage through one door and you will see it again in your room. Passengert doors and check-in are the next doors down and they have been very efficient both times I have left there. We live within driving distance so it's easy for us but I realize not everyone can plan to arrive later. And we'll see you there on the first of May!

Thanks Robbie for the info and advice but we could never be one of the ones arriving that late. We like the anticipation and excitement of getting on early, eating lunch and exploring the ship. The crowds, wait, etc are all part of the experience to us. See you there.
