Default Port or Starboard

Which side is Non-Smoking? Also does anyone know which side looks towards land in Cozumel and Ocho Rios when the ship is docked at the piers? Or does this change due to which way they pull in?
Thanks!

butterfly,
You didn't specify which ship but as far as I know there is no "non-smoking" side policy on a ship. Most ships have designated smoking areas. There is no smoking by the pool, in restaurants, or other public places, unless designated so. Some lounges are divided with the Port side for smokers but the main theater is no smoking. Most cruisers are considerate and do not smoke in the rooms. We have never been affected by the smell of smoke in a room but always bring a room deoderizer just in case.

Hi Butterfly,
On the Navigator the left side of the ship was smoking but only on the outside decks (not sure if it's starboard or port). In Cozumel and Ocho Rios the right side of the ship was more towards the land (we were kind of vertical from ocho rios but you could see the land more from the right side.) Hope this helps

The ship we will be sailing is the beautiful Mariner Of The Seas. Thanks for your responses!

Left is Port and Starboard is right. To remember, the word left has 4 letters in it and so does Port.

ALL cabins on both sides of the ship have smoking allowed. There are NO non smoking cabins.

On the public decks, one side will be designated smoking.

Port side is left.. while you are facing the front of the ship. Starboard right.

Our room was Port side on the Mariner and when we docked in Cozumel, we looked directly at another RCCL ship docked next to us. FYI, when docked in Cozumel, the stores at the dock and the ones next door where Carnival is docked are just as good as shopping downtown.

Luv2B@sea, I loved your "s/name" so much I made it my personalized license plate! LV2BATC with the whale tail background. Anyone else have a personalized plate regarding cruising?

Wow, CA Cruiser... cool plate. Unfortunately I only have it as my screen name... my license plate is normal and dull. lol you would think someone who luvs 2 B @ sea would know which side of the ship is port and which is starboard!
