I have also seen conflicting info on this subject. I've seen posts from people here who have said they had Lobster on their recent 5 day cruise, Then above someone says any cruise longer than 3 days, Then another that says 7 days or longer.... Its very confusing, While I love Lobster and it is a special treat to enjoy when cruising, if I find it is not served, I suppose I'll just have to enjoy it while we're in port on our next cruise.
But just for curiousity sake I'd love to get the real scoop on whether it really is served on cruises less than 7 days. That way if we are going to have it in port, I can do a little research where the pest places to eat are in the ports we'll be visiting.
We'll be cruising for 13 days but only 5 of those days will be on RCL and it would be nice to know what to expect.
Bummer! I went back and looked and found two different posts from people who sailed the Enchantment in the last month or two on 5 day cruises and they had lobster tails. I wonder why they would serve it on one ship and not another? We'll be on the Enchantment and November is a way off, so who knows what they'll be doing then? Like I said before it really doesn't matter, I know we'll have fun even if they're serving bread and water (well ok, I might be a little disappointed lol) but lobster or not, I'm going to enjoy it.

The lunch and dinner menus our usually posted outside the main dining room during the breakfast hour. On some cruises, if there is a special in the buffet, then it gets posted in the daily paper delivered to your room.

You must realize that lobster is not always available as say, steak! It depends on the harvest and that varies during the year. This could be the reason some shorter cruises had lobster and some didn't.
I have read on this site that some passengers have been able to get lobster every night. We are sailing on the Grandeur this month, and my husband would be in heaven to have steak and lobster every night. I would cheerfully tip, bribe, or pay for him to have the meal of his choice. Any suggestions on how to make this happen?
We have been on 3 cruises, all 7 nights, but on Lobster night my father goes crazy! He LOVES lobster. He gets an apetizer of lobster, a salad of lobster, main course of lobster, and dessert of lobster, but then he will also get an regular apetizer of like soup or shrimp. The Lobster is wonderful and the waiters do all they can to help you!
If your from New England you won't like the lobster. What they serve on cruise ships is not a "true" american lobster (just a name not the country).
Two kinds of lobster-like crustaceans exist in U.S. waters: the “true” or American lobster and the spiny lobster. The true lobster has claws on the first four legs, and is only found in northeast waters. The spiny lobster; the spiny lobster has a pair of horns above the eyes, lacking in the true lobster. The item marketed as “lobster tail” usually is a spiny lobster. The spiny lobster is found in warm waters off Florida, in the West Indies, and off southern California.
Many people obviously like the taste of the warmer water lobsters, but if you're from New England, you will really notice a difference and it won't taste right at all.
FYI....back from our 6 day Radiance cruise up the California coastline...and YES we had Lobster...and YES they had the murder mystery dinner in Chops or Portofino's one night...but frankly, the lobster was over cooked, our least favorite meal of the week.
Not that we won't order next time if it's offered! ! Every cook has an off night every now and then : )
Just came back from the Voyager we had lobster and plenty of it. Waiter came around for a second time with a plateful for anyone who wanted it.

We sailed Enchantment 6/04 and had lobster on a 5 night cruise.
Plentiful Lobster at that. The waiter came around offering seconds, thirds, and Fourths.
Very Good!
