Default Navigator of the Sea

We will be cruising on NOS out of Miami in Nov. This is our first cruise. How is it boarding the ship? I am terrified of heights. Is the gangway an enclosed area, or will the height be a problem?

it is enclosed but it's enclosed in like a clear glass wall, it goes up to either the fourth or third floor so it's not too high

Hopefully you will be so overwhelmed by the whole experience, you'll never even notice.

When you board you will enter a building(terminal) and walk along long, wide hallways. As you go up the hallway is enclosed with glass. I don't like heights and never felt too high or unsafe in any way. You may not even notice when you board the ship, it is a very smooth transition. If I'm not mistaken you board on deck 11, where you can go out to the solarium pool area and then to the Windjammer for lunch. The ship is absolutely gorgeous! Have fun.

Spoke to my husband and he remembers boarding on a lower deck, probably deck 3 and taking the elevator up to deck 11. Nevertheless, you'll hardly notice that you've boarded the ship.
