Brilliance has a nice cigar lounge also. It's open from around 9:00 pm till the last smoker leaves. The attendant was also friendly and helpful. The selection of cigars was modest, mostly Dominicans, but the attendant had a special stash of Cubans for sale which she purchased onshore. Personally I thought the prices were way too high, cigars I can buy here in NY for between $5 to $10 were priced between $12.00 to $20.00. I brought my own cigars, and enjoyed the company of other smokers every night.
I enjoy cigars out on the open deck, usually at night, on the back of the ship.
If the cigar lounge attendant had Cuban cigars he/she would be a smuggler once the ship enters U.S. waters. Not that the Customs Agents are going to raid the lounge or anything but............ ! You can buy Cubans in almost any port in the Caribbean but they are not that cheap. Fifteen bucks for a Monte Cristo or Churchill. And you need to be careful that you're buying a real Cuban.
You are right, they are not cheap, $19.00 for a Monte Cristo # 2, $13.00 for a # 3, $15.00 for a Bolivar Belicosa. Furthermore, they are nothing special and probably not worth the price. Personally, I prefer Dominicans, primarily La Gloria Cubana, however, in most of the Carribbean Ports you can't find anything except Cubans offered in the shops, that is why I bring cigars with me.
Yeah Id bring your own. Get some beads from www.climmax.com or www.bargainhumidors.com and put a couple tablespoons in the cut off toe of a pantyhoe. Tie it off and make like a bean bag. Hydrate the beads with distilled water and throw it and cigars in a suitably sized rubbermaid container. Presto one El Cheapo travel humidor. Maybe put a small piece of foam in the container to keep everything from getting thrown around in transit.
I use them in my cheap Thompson Cigar humidor at home and they're great. I just give them spritz from a spray bottle of distilled water every couple weeks or whenever the humidity starts falling. Very low maintenance.
More info can be found on the beads etc at cigarpass.com. Do a seach on igloodors and tupperdors regarding poormans storage.
Actually, I got a nice travel humidor from Thompson and it came with a small Credido as well as a humidity guage, it holds about 20 cigars and works real well. It was one of those $29.95 specials where you got 12 cigars plus the travel humidor and a Thompson logo hat.
he doesnt have to wait until cruise is finished there areplenty of place sto smoke cigars that YOU dont have to go to.he pays the same amount to cruise and can smoke his cigars.until there are no smoking cruise you will have to deal with it.
yes you may smoke one side of the pool deck is non somikng and the other is smoking
hAPPY GUY no prob am fellow cigar smoker and am repectful of others but reserve my right to smoke when i am outside i dont smoke inside and if people cannot handle it outside they need not to sit by pool as yo can smell the smoke from the ship also.
BTW Alisun, smoking options for cigaretts are much greater than for Cigars or pipes. There are lots of indoor public spaces which allow cigaretts but not cigars or pipes, including, the casino, and bars and lounges.
Unfortunately they allow smoking in designated areas of all the bars, but cigarette smoke does not seem to understand it should stay in these areas, polluting the complete interior of the bars forcing non smokers to inhale secondary smoke damaging our health and making us smell every bit as bad as the smokers.
It is time some of the bars are designated non smoking, to allow it in part of the bar is like saying we can urinate in the shallow end of the swiming pool.
if you dont like cigars maybe you can stay in your own home.i may not like things you do but i have to deal withthem on the ship so you have to deal with others .Just because people smoke they shouldnt enjoy there vacation.i am sure the ship is big enough for you not to have to be so close to smokers.when you pay for my vacation then you can tell me what to do until then Chill and enjoy your vacation.remeber the smoker paid as much if nor more fo rtheir cruise !
I have been on 5 cruises. I do not smoke and I have not had smoke bother me during any of the cruises. I think smokers are much more concern about others (these days), then non-smokers are about hurting feelings.
