Default Observatory Deck and Stargazing

My wife and I (cruisin' meme) are heading out this weekend for on the Vision of the Seas and being an amateur astronomer, I will be bringing my binoculars and star charts along to do some star gazing (there are things you can see farther south than you can see here..)

Was wondering how dark it gets up there on the observatory deck? The last cruise we were on (Sensation) I was up on the top deck in the front and it was kinda nice.

Looking forward to our vacation next week!!

I don't know much about the deck on that particular ship but I can say that every ship I have been on has been dark at the front. In fact, it's a regulation to keep the outer decks dark at night anywhere in front of the bridge because the light can impair sight into the distance. Basically, go as far forward as you can and it should be fine.

On the Sensation, it was dark up there and I did get to do some great stargazing. Thanks for the info...
