We cruised to the western caribbean in Feb this year. We left from Fort Lauderdale. We went on the Enchanment of the Seas. It was a beautiful boat and I know that they are improving it right now. It is in Dry Dock. It was windy in Florida and on the boat but it was nice when we were on the islands. We went to Jamica and Grand Caymen Islands. We had a blast. Can't wait to do another one. Have agreat time.
We did the Eastern on the Navigator in Feb. 12 and the weather wasn't that great. The wind was blowing on the top deck so bad that you could not go up there. It never stopped the whole cruise. People were wrapped in towels sitting in the sun. This is not what I call fun. Anyway, St. Thomas and St. Martin were very warm but PR was cool and rainy. All in all it was still better than 20's or 30's in Atlanta. But would probably have to really think about another cruise in Feb. But yet, any cruise is a good cruise.
We go every January or February on our yearly cruise. We like this time of year because we like to escape the cold Mid Atlantic winters. Our last cruise was this past January and it was in the 80's in the Southern Caribbean. Our next cruise will be in February of 06. It's great to go from 20 to 30 degree weather and step off the plane in San Juan and it being humid and in the 80's.
Tampa can be pretty chilly in Feb. so if departing from there could be not so great. Miami departure would probably be in the 70's. Had high 70's and 80's the entire cruise at end of this past Feb. to east. Carib. departing from Ft. Laud. Late Jan. 06 we are going out of San Juan, like the idea of departing 800 miles further south, Atlantic waters can be rough, Caribbean Sea much calmer. Being from the N. E. can't see going on a Caribbean cruise any other time than winter.
We sail every Late January or February, whichever falls on super bowl week. Have done this for the last 10yrs. We will only go out of San Juan, and i know every island in the southern caribbean but you will always be assured of near perfect weather from beginning til end. One year about five years ago we went twice in February . Once from San Juan and once from Ft Lauderdale because we got such a great deal. Well i will never do that again, the weather made it uncomfortable the whole trip. Leaving florida it was cold and windy with rain for two days. Then returning back after leaving Grand Cayman it was the same for the last two days. Not worth it to me, When it's cold at home i want to go on vacation and be somewhat guaranteed good weather for the whole week no just a couple of days. Other good alternatives in the winter are Hawaii and any place in the caribbean from start to finish. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!!

We've cruised last 2 Febs (04 out of Miami; 05 Puerto Rico), plan to do so again this Feb on Voyager of the Seas. Last year on Serenade OTS our teenage kids slept on the balcony several nights. Weather was absolutely beautiful and usually you can plan on great weather (low 80's), though as always there can be exceptions.
