Default Refurbishing of he Sovereign of the Seas

hey RCCL cruisers (and anyone else) - watch TLC (The learning channel) next Sunday afternoon. They have a five part documentary called "Drydock: A Cruise Ship Reborn" that they are showing starting at 2 p.m. Set your VCR or TIVO and enjoy. The transformation is amazing.

Hey I watch all 4 parts to the refurbishing of the Sovereign of the Seas. Itís was a great show. The Sovereign has a special place in my heart because I took my 1st cruise on her, so I am very happy for her. I will be making plans in the future to cruise on her again.

My husband and I also watched all 4 segments. We were very impressed that RCCI was able to accomplish so much in such a short time. After seeing this program last night...would love to give this ship a try.

I saw five segment of the show. Two last week, three this week.

Is there a place where we can see pictures of the new sovereign or even pictures to compare before and after.

My husband and I also saw the shows and can't wait to set sail June 27th. We were amazed at how much they accomplished in such a short time. Can't wait to see the clock working.

My husband and I watched this also. This was our first ship we cruised on. Would love to go on her again but we really don't like Nassau. I guess we could just stay on the ship that day. Anyway, I was looking at some of the pictures posted by Dave the Wave, and he was standing on front of that clock that seemed like a quest to get fixed and guess what? the thing is still not working. I guess they thought they got it fixed. Maybe it has a mind of it's own. But you know, who really wants to know what time it is anyway on a cruise.

Cathy,

You are right. The clock still does not work. At the time, I did not realize it was such an issue. The small hand was moving sporadicaly like the minute hand. It was hours off. After seeing the segment about the clock, apprently it has never worked properly. It is beautiful though.

I saw this show too. It was AWESOME!! I wish it was a continuing series.

I hate to say it but I feel a Cruise Ship Reality Show coming on. Sure there was the dating show "Shipmates" but I think they might try to do something else.

What are your thoughts of camera crews running about the ship filming your vacation? Besides the Cruiselines videographers that is.

I enjoyed the shows but kept wondering why they created such a stressful environment to have it completed in such a short time (guess revenues is the reason) ..should have allowed more time--fewer mistakes & less stress. I'd love to see some photos. This was our first cruise & it was great fun but I did not like the tiny cabins with no balconies. I felt the ship seemed tired even then- It did have a grueling schedule with the short hops--lots of wear & tear but when we cruised, it was a top money maker....
