Default Monarch of the Seas

Hello all....its been almost a year since my last cruise. I have just booked the Monarch of the Seas for my birthday, and was wondering what info you might be able to give me. I booked a Jr. Suite as the standard rooms seem Ridiculously small. I know that the ship has been redone, and was just wondering what I might be able to expect. Anyone eaten at Jade Sushi and is it an extra fee or included? What are the public areas like, etc.? Thanks in advance.

Been on this ship twice in the last 1 1/2 years, going again this December (always in a Jr suite). Its our favorite cruise ship for short cruises. Can't tell you about Jade (don't like sushi) but the we think, bar none, their alternate dinning is the best we have experienced on ANY ship or line and thats 5 lines 12 ships and 27 cruises Our last cruise on her was in Feb. this year, she was clean. Great service, Don't miss the "dueling pianos" in Bolaro's lounge. Although the suites are showing a little ware, you won't be disappointed in your choice. Good luck and have a great time.

The ship decor is very Hyatt like, with a 4 story atrium. Neat thing, too, is the shops are much more open, so it makes it fun to browse (rather than the narrow hallways on Pride, for example)

Two pools midship.

Viking Crown Lounge is great for a quiet drink. We had a champagne brunch up there for Platinum members.

I am writing an article for Cruisemates about our sailing last week, so more to come.

Oh by the way, weather is great that time of teh year -- almost always sunny, though a little on the chilly side.

Harry

We were on the Monarch back in August and have another cruise on the Monarch booked in December. Being our first cruise we were very impressed. We had a small window room but it was really clean. Everything looked very fresh and we had a great time!!! Our next ship to try is the Mariner in 2 weeks. Can't wait!!!
