no but golfed at sandals in oches rios. I thought it was a waste of money... I would rather spent that type of money at home on a nice course. You can bring your clubs, or rent them for $45, also caddy fee of $15, balls for $17, and then tip the caddy. We spent over $200 just to play golf in Jamacia...
When we were on an eastern Caribbean cruise we stoped in the Dominican Republic. The ship had a shore excursion to play "Casa Del Campo" probably one of the finest courses in the caribbean, but the cost was $235.00 plus tip plus balls, plus shoe rental, and they wouldn't guarantee that you would finish more than 13 holes!. I passed. If I want to golf, I'll go on a golf vacation, when I cruise I don't golf.
The golf course at Breezes Runaway Bay is a fine layout, championship caliber. I've played it probably 20 times (last time in '02). It has some great par 4s and some wonderful par 3s. While it is not right on the water it does offer great views of the ocean. If you go you won't be disappointed.
Well we had a good time playing golf. The course was not up to par after the hurricanes, the trip to and from was an experience. There was 7 of us in a little van with very little A/C. One player whose foursome buddies canceled at the last minute took a taxi back to the ship. Two ladies were upset and worried about getting back because our foursome were still playing and the driver of the van was putting water in the radiator. We skipped the 16th & 17th holes. For the money we spent it was not worth it.
