Better take a sweater or a sweatshirt, looks like Irene may be a factor this weekend.
Although Canada is experiencing record heat. Good Luck whereever you go.

After the last fiasco they will go to Bermuda in 60ft Seas.

No, they will not go if the storm is a factor. Luckily (at least for Bermuda cruisers), the storm may be inland enough to sail past.

The next cruise to Bermuda is August 21st, but thanks for wishing bad travels on those of us scheduled on Voyager!

Uh, no, the next RCI cruise to Bermuda is Sunday 8/14. I'll be on it, and we should make it to Bermuda though I expect we'll take a route that bends further out to sea.

Hope all of you make it safely to your destinations. Watching Irene closely and they say it may hit the Carolinas. That is where we are heading in 3 weeks. Kind of scary to take out hurricane insurance when going to the beach. Hopefully none of us will encounter a hurricane. We don't feel like driving 9 1/2 hours to be evacuated!! Enjoy Bermuda, this is one spot where we are intending to go. Hear its beautiful. Have a great cruise!!

If anyone is affected, I would say it would be the Bermuda people leaving on Sunday. You will make it to Bermuda, but you might need to take the long way around since the storm is supposed to travel between the US and Bermuda, especially on the way back to Baltimore.

Shades, we will be on this one too....do you think this might change the days/time we're in Bermuda??? I'd be interested in any info/thoughts anyone has! We just came back from a NE/CA cruise, and while I won't let it ruin my vacation, I'd rather not go right back there again!!

All you folks still griping about Bermuda. I survived 2 Hurricanes in FL had more then $100,000 in damages. Was insured but lost many keepsakes that were priceless. Please don't complain that you had a bad vacation. I personally know people that lost everything and much worst off then me. I posted this on this thread so as not to bump all the crybaby's posting. I really don't fell sorry for them. AMEN

Personally, I'm not complaining about anything! I am sorry for the losses people have suffered from hurricanes! But I can also see people being disappointed on their cruises when being rerouted to someplace totally different! For some, they saved up for this cruise and it was a trip of a lifetime! I am NOT going to let anything ruin my trip.....

I'd rather not go to Canada since that's where my last cruise went, but I'm not picky about the ports. I chose this cruise because the B Street Band is celebrating their 25th anniversary on it and there was a package deal for friends and fans. I'm not sure if any of their performances are open to the whole ship, but Wednesday's is at the pool just after leaving so I imagine anyone could go. If you like Springsteen, they're amazing.

I'm all packed!

Do you mean the E street band? Or is there another one? We do love Springsteen and so do some others in our group so this is GREAT!!!! We'll be there at the pool Wednesday. Do you have any kids going? Ours are 11 (boy) and 7 (girl). They spend most of their time at the Adventure Ocean place--works out great for all of us! See you there!!!!!

The real thing is Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. This is the B Street Band, formerly called Backstreets. I think Bruce might have complained. But they've been covering Bruce for 25 years so they're about as good as it can get. Close your eyes and you'd never know.

We have two boys 8 and 5, but we're leaving them home with their grandparents. We went to Disney in November - this is OUR vacation!

How did you find out about what the entertainment will be on the specific cruise? We are sailing on Sept 22 Jewel out of Boston, and it would be great to find out about the entertainment in advance! :-)

I wa snot wishing anyone bad travels I simply said be prepared. What we don;t need is another thread with everyone whinning because they don't remember its hurricane season. I wish everyone happy crusing at all times. For me personally its all about the ship and not the ports.

I don't think there's any way to find out about the entertainment in advance. I knew about the B Street Band because the band was celebrating their 25th anniversary and organized a package deal for friends and fans, so I actually found out about the cruise through them.

I just got back today and had a great time. The band rocked! There was even a lot of the cruise staff out there dancing and enjoying their music. They just blew away the regular band typically playing at the pool.

And, the good luck helped - we had perfect weather and had no impact from Irene.

Shades, the band DID rock! I only got to hear the first maybe 45 min or so, but they were really good. And we DID have perfect weather! Also, getting off the ship and getting bags to our van was very easy. Much more organized than my recent trip from Philly. We are going on the Grandeur again in June, already booked it on board. Are also thinking seriously of the Mariner--getting a taste of the BIG ships.
