it amazes me that the thread of this converstion is going in all sorts of directions, only from 1 simple questions - people need to be a little more open minded - i could not imagine the thread that would go on about 2 men holding hands on the ship....
i would love to see what people think of this - and see how open and/or closed minded people are then....

For the record, I've seen it...not on a cruise but in the mall and I thought it was great that
these two people are happy and want the world to know. I couldn't be that brave.
What is the worst that can happen? Just don't do it in the middle of a Hell's Angel reunion and you will be fine. Go ahaed...hold hands...kiss even if you want! You have rights!
Well, I will hold hands with my partner of 10 years on our cruise in public spaces, and let you know what kind of reaction I get. it has never been a problem for me before, but I live in Los Angeles, and we are a bit more liberal here. And most of the places I have ever travelled are MUCH more liberal the the U.S. when it comes to that.

As for the "uptightness" of the United States? (shrugs). Not much we can do about it - blame the forefathers for that plus the Victorian times. We aren't connected to Europe - we're kinda in our own section of the planet here & its impossible to move the plates closer to you guys. So what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander.
Very interesting what Cruisemates chooses to censor. Apparently it's ok for a poster to attack Americans as small minded, but not ok to take him to task for it. Apparently free speech is a one way street.
Hey Fitzla, Just wanted to let you know that someone with the same user name that you use here, is over on one of the other cruise sites badmouthing Cruisemates. This poster said they were so much happier there and how much more respectable the people there are than here and referred to this post regarding topless sunbathing and how people mistreated the original poster. I am sure this must be an imposter and could not posibly be you since I am sure you noticed that even though there were some who thought the concept of topless sunbathing was classless, there were also people defending her as well. Surely someone who is as classy and respectable as you would not speak poorly of all of us Cruisemates based on a few opposing opinions, especially since you posted here as recently today. Say it aint so!
I am not going to attack you. I just thought that it must be a case of mistaken identity. I also thought it was strange to find such negative comments from someone who is a current poster. Thats all, no attacks, its not my style.
