Just curious if RCCL offers a topfree sunbathing deck. I have been only on one cruise which was the Carnival Glory. They had their own topfree deck and came in handy while out at sea. Has had anyone any experience on RCCL or other cruise lines? thanks Lisa

Re: Re: Re: Topfree sunbathing on RCCL is it allowed?
actually, i was on celebrity and at the front of the ship they do allow topless sunbathing...and really it is so natural - being canadian... acutally a women if wanted to can to topless in downtown toronto..
therefore - you dont have to go on carnival if u don't want to - going topless should just be so natural - and i understand she is not doing this to exploit herself - to some people it is just so natural -
Cassandra, it is so funny that you say that topless sun bathing isn't very classy. you must not be much of a world traveler. If you were, you would know that in most European Nations, and many other nations, topless sunbathing is nothing but classy, and accepted WHEREVER you are. So, before you say that someone is not classy, I suggest you learn the facts instead of resoring to insults on a subject you know nothing about. It is only America that seems to have a problem with it, and I would say that we are one of the least progressive nations in many respects.
Fitzla - when in Rome, you can do what the Roman's do, when on a family ship in America................... There are other ships that allow this but not RCI - thank GOD!!
I am calling most of America small minded. It is not just people on this bored, but Americans in general who have been raised to be small minded. People saying that topless sunbathing is not Classy, when in fact some of the most refined cultures in the world topless sunbathe. France, Italy, Spain, just to name a few. And before you tell me to go back to where I came from, I was born and raised in Los Angeles, 4th generation. I suppose all those who tell the people who want to topless sunbathe to find a cruise that is not family oriented probably think I should not be there either as I am a gay man travelling with my partner of over 10 years. Maybe we are not considered a family in your eyes. God forbid your precious children should see two gay men or women on a cruise. You are dividing people on a cruise because they do not fit into your definition of a "family". And I am not talking about me. The topless sunbathers. How do you know that they will not be with their families? This is the kind of thinking that has divided our country. The only answer to these people should have been "No, RCCL does not allow it". But then people have to go interject their own opinions, not thinking that maybe you are hurting these peoples feelings by telling them they are not classy. Or, maybe they are laughing at you, because they are from, say, France. And France as a whole makes America look like a bunch of rednecks. That is why I call people small minded. Becuase as a whole, we are a small minded country.
I've been on Labadee on two occasions where European woman sunbathed topless.
I'll admit, they did catch the attention of a few people but as a whole, most people just
shrugged their shoulders with the "too each his own attitude". (which is my opinion too).
I honestly think that her topless sunbathing wasn't the main reason she attracted some attention though. Both she and the man she was with (both very attractive), were wearing the most unbelieveable jewelry I personally had ever seen. His was exceptional but her's looked like Elizabeth Taylor lent it to her! And yes, the jewels changed daily and made it to the beach.
Again with the Insults. Have you ever been to France? It is a beautiful country and much more refined than the U.S. Why must people insult other walks of life just because they don't believe what you do.
First time I saw the topless ones on celeb its was kind of sad really--just a few ladies doing their own thing.. Didn't bother me but the part I did not care for was that it had been located adjacent to the kiddie pool--not a bright pick by Celeb which I believe had designated that particular location--- as long as it's not at the main pool areas I don't object but away from the kiddie pool would be better..
the OP asked if RCI has decks SPECIFICALLY for topless sunbathing. so maybe before some posters jump all over her, they should think about the fact that rather than "whipping them out" in front of your kids, she had the decency and respect to look for an adults only, appropriate, designated place to go topless. if that's not class, i don't what is.
Fitzla, I spend three years in Europe and visited France many times. As a group, French people were much more rude and snooty than those in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and just about everywhere else.
I can't see how there can be any discussion about "classy" or "not classy" in relation to women going topless.
Personally can't see where class enters into it at all. In some cultures it's widely accepted, and in others it's frowned upon. How that equates to anything related to "class" is a DUH moment. It only has to do with the "norms" of various societies.
On the other hand civil discussions of varying and differing opinions is classy. Petty arguements are not.
