Default How one Ford Taurus can handle luggage for 4 people

Hi I am looking for suggestions for carrying luggage for a 10 day cruise for 4 people in one Ford Taurus? Any packing/carrying ideas?

luggage rack!! How far are you driving to the port? Maybe rent a van each way.

I'm coming from DC. I like the van rental option. And I see you have alot of cruise mileage under your belt, especially in 2005! Wow!!

Where in CA are you from? My son is in film school in Ventura.

I would suggest consulting a travel company that transports you and your luggage to port (i.e Van booked through company going to airport). If you do this, you will not have the responsibility of the vehicle.

To do this, I would suggets contacting a Travel Agency and they would take the liberty of booking it for you.

Hope this helps and best of luck

Thanks, Mackenzie! I will look into that. Happy sailing (whenever your next cruise is)!

Suggest a rental van. We rented a Ford Freestar. There was 4 of us and that van was packed. Cant imagine doing in a car. The van actually got reasonable gas mileage. I would try that route. This will save mileage on your car. Rates are fairly reasonable and if you have a credit card see if you may have any points that you can redeem that will help with the rental. We did and saved $300 on a week rental.

I did have to laugh at this picture. Trust me.

That is the car that our niece has. She lives near San Diego. My husband and flew to the west coast, rented a small SUV - and did a driving tour, ended up at her house and she took us to catch the ship. With just three of us in the car and luggage for two of us, we barely made it. I was scrunched in the back seat with part of the stuff.

Yes, you had better rent a van. Have a great cruise.
