I had a balcony on Splendour on deck 7 and it had a refrig. I am going to be on it again this 11/12 for a transatlantic crossing.

I think you will be disappointed if you expect the in-room refrigerators to keep anything really cold - cool, maybe, but not cold. Have your room steward bring an ice bucket to keep that champagne cold.
Is there a way to buy canned soda to store in the fridge? I understand they serve only fountian drinks on board and at over $2 each with tip, keeping a few cold cans in the room is appealing. Other than smuggling them onboard, any ideas?

Yes - there should be some in there when you arrive and the room steward should replace any that you use. Also, the "sundries" shop on board also sells cans of soda. Incidentally, you are permitted to bring soft drinks on board - no need to "smuggle." DH is a Pepsi drinker and hates Coke, so we always bring a small roll-on suitcase packed with 24-oz. bottles and bottled water.
