Default Bringing my son's friend-what is needed

For my son's birthday, he wanted to bring one of his friends. The reservation has been made and all is set. What type of letter is acceptable for RCCL allowing him to travel with us? I'm not sure what it needs to say. His friend is 16 years old.

You will need a letter from his parents stating that you have permission for him to travel with you.
You also need a letter that gives you permission for medical treatment should that be needed. Hopefully, it will not be needed, but just to be safe.
Both of these must be signed and noterized.

Have a great time.

Jewels,
Just a follow up on Sunbirds correct info. Both parents(if alive) need to sign the forms. I have a sample of the medical if I can find it I'll e-mail it to you. ALSO remember passports---depending where and when you're going may be mandatory for everyone.

P.S. get yor son's parent(s) to drive you to the airport and pick you up. It's a small price to pay for their vacation!

sunbird is right about what you need!

When our niece traveled with us from time to time with our daughter(even on a Baltic Cruise and a South Pacific Cruise), all you really NEED and you do need it just in case, is a NOTERIZED letter stating that you have permission to approve any medical treatment that might be needed. Also, a noterized letter stating that he has permission to travel with you.

The ship never did ask for anything in advance, but we had them if we needed them!

Hope all of you have lots of fun on your cruise! ~WSEA~

You'll also need his birth certificate with raised seal (or watermark).

Email RCCL from their website as to what is needed. Take a copy of that letter/email with you when you board in case there are any questions. The above replies are good information to have as well.

Default Bringing son's friend

All good information. The state dept. has stated that after Dec. 06 passports will be needed by everyone leaving and reentering the U.S. But do we need picture id's for the children (8 and 13)? If so, where do you get them?
