Default Mariner of the Seas and Cozumel week of 11/20

Talked to the RC personnel two days ago and they said we will NOT be going to Cozumel and it will be a day at sea. Wonder why they are letting some other ships in. Has anyone heard? I wanted to go to Margueritteville!!

We were scheduled to go there too on the Carnival Liberty but it has been changed till the end of the year to Costa Maya. I read there are no piers to dock. Are you sure other ships are still going there? Which ones?

I read somewhere that they are only allowing one ship per day there. It may be because of the pier damage, they will be using tenders.

Margaritaville in Cozumel is probably Junkville now. The hurricane really did a number on that port! In any case, do Margaritaville in Ocho Rios instead. You'll have a great time, I'm sure.

With at least 3 piers they used to be able to handle about 10 ships or more a day. Now because passengers must be tendered on Mexican tenders, they cannot accommodate all previous ships. I am not sure what the "priority" is for being welcomed back to Cozumel is but many ships will have itinerary changes for a while until the International and Carnival piers are rebuilt which could take more than a year.
Bon Voyage.

Just got back from our cruise last week and we DID go to Cozumel. There was one other ship there. You would not believe the damage. We had to be tendered in but it went well. Out tender held 800 people! Even though there was damage there was plenty of shops open. We took a taxi down to the other end (The Forum Shops). We did not do any excursions but they were offering some. We also went to Costa Maya which was one of our planned stops anyway. Got lots of pics!

We sailed on Jewel of the Seas.
