when in costa maya take a cab to ma-he-wah(that is the pronunciation, not actual spelling) we sat on the beach while all the vendors catered to us in a BEAUTIFUL setting. Hope you find it - we were there in 12/04 P.S. the cruise lines tell you to stay in their shopping area, but you will be sorry if you miss this.
We ate at Tapas in Majahual on our last cruise. I had a conch something-or-other. It was a cold dish that was good. I don't know if they are back open or not. I heard they were closed a couple of months ago.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
I went to La Palapa beach as part of a tour. The beach was nice (quiet) there was a long dock there. Not alot of food, but the locals will cater to you. They dragged my chair into the gulf so I could sit with my lower half in the water and brought me a corona.
I went on the splendour over Christmas break and in Cozumel we went to Paradise Beach and it was beautiful. It had excellent service and they have trampolines and an "iceberg" you can climb. The food is really great and cheap
