Default Royal Caribbean vs. Carnival????

I have been on three Carnival cruises and I have been reading alot of comments on these boards that Carnival is nicer than R.C.! Any comments? I am cruising The Splendour soon and jutt wondering if I made a bad choice!

I've cruised both lines and like both for different reasons. I would sail on either line, given the chance. Carnival has larger rooms and I think their food is better, not that we didn't have plenty of good food to eat on Royal Carribean. Royal Carribean has a more "upscale" feel, and I think their service is better and their entertainment is slightly better. My last three cruises were on Carnival and my upcoming one is on Royal Carribean. When comparing the two lines for our upcoming cruise Royal Carribean had a better price (about $50 per person), free upgrade to an ocean view cabin and an extra port (we like port intensive cruises).

I have been on both RCI and Carnival. I personally like RCI better due to the "White Glove" Experience. There are differences between the two but would never suggest not to sail on Carnival because I like RCI. I just had some things I like better on RCI:
1. My DH and I are not drinkers and RCI did not shove it in our face all day.
2. We do not party hard and Carnival is major partying. Not to say that parties are bad.
3. I enjoyed the dining experience better on RCI. The waiters were more attentive. This could be due to the fact we were at a 8 person table and only 3 of us showed up every night.
