Default Cozumel Excursions

We will be visiting Cozumel on our cruise and would like some ideas on the best excursions for snorkeling. This is our first cruise and we were looking at the Dune Buggy Beach and Snorkel Combo or the Mini Jeep Outlander and Snorkel. We really want to enjoy the beach but also snorkel. If anyone has any suggestions please respond. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Chaakanaab is a nice park with a per person fee of about $10. It has good snorkeling, restaurants, swimming with dolphins, etc. At least this was before Katrina - I do not have a recent update. A taxi is about $5 each way.

There are probably some free snorkeling spots. Try a google on Cozumel snorkeling.

I am not sure if the cruise line offers the Fury Catamaran trip anymore but we booked it on our Cruise when we were in Cozumel and then again booked it while in playa del carmen in 04 it is a really fun trip they take you to two snorkel spots and then go to a place on the beach for lunch for and hr where you can play volleyball lay on a raft or just veg under a tree. lunch is Great burgers with sides with all the drinks included. the trip on the way back is really fun the ship crew makes you have a GREAT time and are very helpful. I hope this helps have fun.

Paul, I hate to tell you, but Chaakanaab was devastated by Hurricane Wilma. I am not sure when it will open, but from what I read, it won't be soon.

Paradise Beach is up and running and I read that there are snorkel tours that leave from there. Cozumel Insider has excursions that they offer.

Have a great cruise!

Default Cozumel Tour recommendation

We used Harry with Cozumeltours.com during our January 13, 2006 visit to Cozumel. He limits his tours to 2-4 persons. He charges $60 pp for a 4-5 hour tour and will take you anywhere and recommend good and pan not-so-good attractions. Harry is a retiring USA police officer who has lived on Cozumel for years. He will give you a thoroughly enjoyable day. Check his website for contact info. He is very prompt to answer e-mails.
