Default Comparison between the Monarch and Carnaval Paradise...

Hey Gang,

I had a friend ask which ship I thought was better for the "short" Baja cruises the Monarch or Carnavel's Paradise.
My wife and I have sailed the Monarch twice, but not he Paradise.
Anyone sailed both ships that could give me their opinion...??

Monarch is the best. More refined and no Las Vegas glitz. Not nearly as many people seeing how fast they can get drunk and stay that way. For us, Monarch is #1
If ya ain't cruising ya ain't livin!!

I sailed both this past summer, enjoyed both but prefered the Monarch and would do it again. Just different atmosphere, great layout but smaller cabins!

Carnival Paradise is not nearly as tacky as some of the older Carnival ships. It is much more understated, and has been redone. More elegant lobby with piano insead of glitter and lights. Rooms are bigger on Paradise. But monarch has the charm and elegance that all rci ships have, better food and more options for food, but smaller cabins. I prefer rci, but both are nice choices. Take a tour of Paradise at carnival.com and I think you will see it is not as bad as some carnival ships.

Thanks everyone for the feedback...
This is kind of what I thought I would hear. There seem to be a lot of fans of the Monarch...We love it too.
Sailing again in May '07 with our 3 kids this time, should be interesting.
