Does anyone know if RCI has cancelled or plans to cancel scheduled stops in Labadee (Haiti) due to the political unrest there? Has anyone who has cruised RCI before had that particular port cancelled? We're cruising March 4th and the island sounds really pretty...
Thanks,
Cathy

A few year's ago we went there during unrest. Although they canceled some stop's, they did not cancel all. I do beleive that Labadee is not close to where the issue's are. I would definately keep an eye out. Last time when they canceled, they just added a day at sea.
Every now and then this unrest occurs (usually around some sort of election). It's true, the unrest is not near Labadee, usually in Port Au Prince. Unless something unusual happens, they will most likely stop there. I hope so, the beach day and the island is really nice.
I really hope we get to go to this place, but I suppose I'd rather be safe at sea than have a weapon of some sort pointed at my face...
I haven't actually started packing yet- I have a ton of stuff to do before the 4th (I'm in university and this is midterm season). We're driving to Manchester, NH and flying Southwest to Fort Lauderdale from there. The weather had better be nice!

I don't know how the weather will be in NH, but we always cruise in March & have been to the caribbean many times, it's always been perfect there that time of year.
Just got my docs this past week for my cruise on Mariner in March which makes a stop in Labadee. Included in pack were immigration forms for the Bahamas.... just in case the itinerary changes
It "only" takes us about 6 hours to drive to Manchester if we go straight through. The price was well worth the long drive- we are a family of 5 and ended up saving $2500 over flying out from the city where we live! The major problem will be fitting all of our suitcases in our Mazda Tribute...
