Default Can we request to sit with another couple?

We are going on the Radiance of the Seas in September to Hawaii and I am wondering if it is possible to request to sit at a table for 4 with another couple?

We would like to sit with our friends.

If you booked with a travel agent, please has him/her to reference both booking ID's to request that you sit together. If you each booked with different travel agents, then both travel agents must make the request. If, once you are onboard, you find that you are not sitting together, just ask the matre'd to change it. They will be happy to accomodate you.

Sounds like too much work to do ahead of time and I don't trust the TA's to get it right, since we both booked with diff TA's.

I will wait til we are on board to change with the Maitre D.

Rob, all you have to do is get the booking number from the other couple, call Royal Caribbean's vacation specialist and have them link your bookings for dinner. Its really easy.

My experience has been if you booked with a travel agent, the travel agent must call on your behalf. I'm not sure RCCL would even speak to you regarding the request.

I have talked to Princess directly when the TA could not get stuff sorted-out to my satisfaction. I don't know why RCI would not take your call.

Rob, on our last cruise, we had some friends who were sailing with us, but booked w/ a different TA. They gave me their booking number, I called my TA, and it was taken care of quickly. You have nothing to lose by trying, and you might not be lucky enough to be able to change things when on the ship. You probably will be able to, but why chance it?

I agree with Michelle. It is easier to try to arrange it now, before the cruise. Why not give it a shot?

We have done this on several occasions-sometimes it works perfectly, a few times it has required some follow-up and persisitance. We book directly with RCCL, so there is no TA involvement. We call or e-mail customer service and give them our booking number and our friends booking number and ask that they be linked and that we want to be seated together at the same table. Once, RCCL requested that our friends call and confirm that they did want to be seated with us. We also had one bad experience where, despite several phone calls, we did not end up at the same table and had to resolve it with the matre'd on the ship. He was very accommodating and gave us our choice of three different tables for four (it wasn't a full ship). Since there are just four of you, it shouldn't be too much trouble to arrange on the ship. I would give it a shot with the travel agents, but be prepared to go see the maitre'd when you board the ship.

Go on RCI website. Register your cruise, you need to do this any way for your on line check in, scroll down to edit items here is where you tell them how do do things for you like putting your beds together or not if you are celebrating a special holiday etc. Also here is where you can choose your dining preference. It also allows you to connect reservation numbers together.

It is really easy. If a 60 year computer illiterate can do it anyone can.

Its less work to do it now than it will be to do on the ship. And there is a better chance of getting seated together if you take care of it now. And thats one less thing you have to do once you board the ship.

I'd certainly exchange your reservation # with the respective T/A's and follow-up to make sure they made the calls. If the Maitre'D has the info when he is doing the initial seating assignments it should be done without any problem. By waiting, it's like getting in the back of the line after everyone else has made their "special needs" requests.

I was going to mention the website! it's great and you'll have to do the precheck anyway! Very easy! however, we are also going to go thru the TA as well just to make sure.

My hubby and I went on a cruise with another couple in 2003 and with my sister and her friend in 2004. Both times we were able to sit together at our seating. We booked through Royal Caribbean and our cruise vacation specialist made it happen.
