Default Balcony Question

Just for reference sake, for a tentative upcomming family group cruise, since I was asked allready. What is the difference between a Regular Balcony room and a Superior Balcony room? Particularly on a radiance class ship?

Appreciate any info.
Thanks
Jane

Total Square Feet, Location and price; E's are regualr, D's are Superior. If someone has no Balcony or cruise experience an E will be fine. If they need a little more room or have more than 2 passengers, a D would be better.

For our next cruise, all I could get in the location that I preferred was an E. However, it is aft and a corner so the balcony will be larger than others in the same class. For a group, make a choice of several categories so people can choose the least expensive or the most expensive.

Bon Voyage

Thanks, that is along the lines that I was thinking, but I wanted to be sure. Appreciate the info.

On a Radiance class ship, if you can get an aft balcony on Deck 7, your balcony is quite a bit larger than some of the "better" rooms. Some people don't like deck 7 because it is right over the lifeboat covers, but it wasn't a problem for us.

Hi Jane,

I booked a Radiance class cruise last week and after a bit of research, I changed my cabin category today.

There are 3 levels of category E (1-3) and then category D. Like other postings, it relates to the size of cabin and deck location.

I decided I did not want to be midship Deck 7 because of the lifeboat canopies; and because these cabins are pushed inward more so than far forward and aft. When on my balcony, I want to be able to look all the way down and not have my downward view obstructed by a lifeboat canopy.

These lifeboat canopies are on all Radiance class ships impacting Deck 7 the most, just a matter of preference if you mind or not.

Hope this helps!

This is all along the lines that I was thinking. We booked the superior balcony on Deck 9 for our Alaska Cruise, and am trying to organize people for a freinds/family reunion for the Caribbean in a couple of years. 95% of these people will be first time cruisers! I thought I had better be prepared for questions when the time comes.

Thanks to All

Jane
