Western Caribbean in August

Has anyone been to Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman in August? Hubby and I are going Aug 5, 2006 and were wondering how the weather is. We know that it differs every year. Has anyone had a bad weather experience during that time? How about a good one?

I was in Cozumel in April 2005 and August 2005. I didn't notice any big difference in the weather. I lot of the carribean stays about the same temperature year round.

Weather-wise, you should expect the three H's -- heat, humidity, and hurricanes. A sea breeze might hold the temperature in check on the islands and at sea, but the humidity probably will be oppressive and a hurricane may cause complete revision of the ship's schedule. The forecaset is for another very active hurricane season with many major hurricanes, like last year.

I would seriously consider going to Alaska instead.
