Since Chankanaub is still not open, when we're in Cozumel the end
of June, I wanted to do a dolphin encounter or dolphin swim. Has anyone
done either in Puerto Aventuras in Playa del Carmen, which is what
RCI now offers for a dolphin encounter?
We're taking our 13 year old granddaughter...is there any other
shore excursion you'd recommend? We've all been to Cozumel
numerous times. We usually go to Chankanaub and then Pancho's
Backyard, and then shopping.
I did not participate in the dolphin excursion in Puerto Aventuras, but did watch when I was there. It seemed fine and the dolphins were very friendly. The Omni Resort is right there by the dolphins and they have a dive shop on site so you can rent snorkel equipment. I loved the Omni and they welcome cruise passengers. Have fun! Also, Surrounding the dolphin area are lots of nice shops. I really liked this area because it is gated and no one bothers you. The shopkeepers don't hound you and many of the items seemed to be a higher quality. They have lots of nice little boutiques.
